This page is to answer frequently asked questions about The Parkday Organization. Information found here will useful to our visitors so please take the time to peruse the document.
- What is the Parkday Organization about?
We are about improving the environmental awareness, through education, showing children and adults alike the natural systems that work around us and the delicate balance which keeps them operating.
- What can I do to help?
If you are interested in assisting us in our mission, please email us at jpirozek@parday.org and let us know what help you could provide.
- What is the best way to view the site?
Using Mozilla FireFox is recommended as well as using a 1024x768 screen resolution. While not required, this is how the site looks and functions best.
- Where do I find _______ Park on the site?
Searching for a specific park on the website is easy. Finding a park by the County where its located use the links in the middle of the left hand side. To find a park offering a specific type of Activity, Facility, Sport or Water use the links on the bottom of the left hand side. Searching for a park by Zip Code, Name, or Jurisdiction can be done on the top of the Page. Other types of searches can be found on our main search page.
- I was looking for specific a park but could not find it.
Right now only State, County, WMA and US parks are listed in the database. If the park you're looking for is a Municipal Park you won't find it on our site currently. If you're sure it's not a Municipal Park try refining your search. For example if you're searching by name try truncating the name and using the wildcard character % in the search field. Or try searching for the park another way (Try the County in which its located).
Quick Tip: placing a % in the name or zip search at the top of the page will provide all the results for the entire database
- I found a park I'd like to go to but im not sure how to get there.
We are currently working to address this issue using Google Maps. That part of the site is still in development and will be released very soon.
- What other new features are you working on.
While I can't divulge everything we are working on behind the scenes, I can reveal that I am working on adding a users section where users can develop their own profile as well as rate parks and leave comments. This feature along with a few others I have hidding up my sleeve should be ready for beta testing soon if you'd like to be involved in assisting with beta testing please email me at bb@parkday.org .
- When will the next parkday event be?
Currently we are working on setting up a park cleanup in the Ocean County area for some time in the late spring early summer months, join the mailing list to make sure you'll be notified. Of course once planning is completed and we can release the information it will appear here.
